Orange Shirt Day at Holy Cross School

Dear Holy Cross School Families,

Saturday, September 30th is the third annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt day, therefore on Friday, September 29th Holy Cross School students and staff are encouraged to wear orange shirts to continue to bring awareness to residential schools, their legacy, and Survivors. 

This is an opportunity to honour the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Widespread public commemoration and acknowledgement of the tragic and painful history, the continued impact, and intergenerational trauma of Canada's residential school legacy, is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

Thank you for taking time this week to bring awareness to this significant day and the history for our school communities.
