Gr 1 & 2 - Myrtleville House Field Trip - December 6, 2019

 

Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

The Grade 1 and Grade 2 classes will be going on a trip to Myrtleville House on Friday, December 6th, 2019.  The classes will be participating in the ‘Good Cheer’ program, outlined below.

GOOD CHEER 
 

Tis the season to be jolly! Join the Myrtleville House Museum this festive season and discover the traditions of Christmas Past. Explore early settler Christmas traditions such as the adoption of the Christmas tree, the emergence of gift-giving, and the holiday season before Santa Claus. Students will have the opportunity to trace changing traditions through a variety of hands-on holiday activities, including the chance to make their very own wooden toy! Baking traditional gingerbread cookies in the historic kitchen will be a highlight of this fun field trip.

 

We will be leaving the school at approximately 12:00, and returning before the end of the school day.  Students should pack a normal lunch and snacks, and need to be dressed for the weather, as they will still be outdoors for recess in the morning and some of the program at Myrtleville House may be done outdoors.

 

The cost of the bus and program together is $8.00 per student.  We are grateful that some of the cost was brought down by the contribution of funds from school fundraising.  Please pay for the trip online via School Cash Online and complete the permission form attached by Monday, December 2nd, 2019.
