Apps' Mill Nature Centre Field Trips - January & February

During the months of January and February, Holy Cross School students will venture to Apps' Mill Conservation Centre for a day of outdoor education.  This always proves to be an exciting and eventful day as the students learn various science related concepts in an outdoor setting.

Permission forms will be sent home and must be returned, signed, to each classroom teacher in order for students to attend. Permission forms can also be downloaded and printed from our website under SCHOOL FORMS, found here: http://www.holycrossbrantford.ca/school-forms

Students will leave the school by bus at 9:15 a.m. and will return before 3:30 p.m.  Since most of the day will be spent outdoors, it is strongly suggested that students dress for the weather.

Due to the job action taking place on January 2st, the trip for the Grade 2 (Mrs. Cheema) & Grades 4/5 (Mr. Catarino), has been cancelled.  If the excursion is able to be rescheduled for a later date, we will provide that information as soon as it is available.

Below are the dates for the remaining class trips:

Date Grade & teacher
Wednesday, January 22nd Both Kindergarten classes (Miss Faulkner & Mrs. Vollegbregt)
Thursday, January 23rd Grades 3/4 (Mr. Edge) & Grade 6 (Miss Jagus)
Tuesday, February 25th Grade 1 (Miss Kikas) & Grade 3 (Mrs. Mehlenbacher)

The Apps' Mill Nature Centre also encourages “going green” so we ask that you a pack as “litterless” a lunch as possible for your child.  Additional snacks might also be needed as your child’s hunger may increase with all the outdoor activities.

Parent volunteers are most welcome to attend and would be greatly appreciated. Please advise your student's teacher of your availability. Please note that only those parents with valid police checks are permitted to volunteer.
